		<description>As both a professional community organizer, and one whose job centers around teaching young organizers to THINK like community organizers do, one of the things that makes me so optimistic about Obama is that he really does think like an organizer. 

This is especially obvious in his book Dreams from My Father, where his several years as a community organizer are given a huge, temporally disproportionate amount of space.

And I LOVED the photo of Obama on election day in a union hall in Indiana, helping make those last-minute calls to get out the vote.
He said that there were calls to be made, so he figured he&#039;d better help make them.
The message to me being, when you&#039;re an organizer, there is no task too lowly... Set an example for others.

I&#039;ve lived long enough to know that the time will come when he&#039;ll break our hearts - I trust that will be an aberation rather than the main story. For now I&#039;m very hopeful to have a guy who thinks like an organizer in the White House.
